I am someone who has felt my way through the dark — and learned how to light my own lamp.
At nineteen, I set off alone to study in a foreign country.
I held a one-way ticket in my hand, landed by myself, moved my own luggage, found a place to live, handled every piece of paperwork — not understanding the language, with no one to lean on.I thought I would be terrified by the loneliness. But I found out that loneliness is not the scariest thing — not knowing how to be with yourself is.I learned to sit with myself in quiet moments and realized I was stronger than I had ever believed.
I have lived through the deepest heartbreak — parting from someone I loved deeply because reality left us no choice.The day after we said goodbye, I was in a car accident — lying alone in a hospital bed in a strange country.My body hurt, my heart hurt, but in that moment I understood: the only one who could save me was me.
After that, I faced lawsuits, accidents, weakness, nights of pain that bent me double — all alone.
Sometimes the pain left me unable to stand straight, but I still told myself: as long as I don’t abandon myself, there is still light.
I want to tell every girl who has ever walked through the dark like I did: you are not alone. You have light.
Even the faintest light is enough to guide you through.
